Plain terms covering use of this website and the general shape of working with me. Anything specific to your project lives in your own written proposal, and that always wins over this page.
Using this website
This site is provided for information. Content is kept accurate and current as far as reasonably possible, but no guarantee is given that everything is complete or error-free at a given moment.
Intellectual property
All design, imagery, copy and code on this site belongs to SUMWEN Studio unless stated otherwise. Project work shown here remains the property of the respective clients. Please do not reproduce anything without permission.
Project work
Every project starts with a written proposal covering scope, timings, cost and payment schedule. That proposal takes precedence over anything on this page. Ownership of final design work transfers to the client once the project has been paid in full.
Quotes and payment
Quotes are fixed for the scope described and valid for thirty days. Most projects run on a deposit followed by a balance on completion. Additional work outside the agreed scope is quoted separately before it begins.
Third-party services
Projects may involve third-party services such as hosting, payment processing or email delivery. Those services are governed by their own terms, and their availability is outside my control.
Liability
Nothing here limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, liability arising from a project is limited to the fees paid for that project. Guidance given on AI, privacy or accessibility is practical advice from me as a designer and is not legal, security or regulatory advice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
