Privacy Policy
I keep this simple. This site collects as little about you as it can, and here is exactly what that is, why I need it, and what happens to it afterwards.
Who is responsible
I'm Chris, and SUMWEN Studio is the data controller for anything collected through this website. You can reach me at hello@sumwen.com with any question about your data, including a request to see it, correct it or have it deleted.
What I collect
- Enquiry form: your name, your email address and whatever you write about your project. Business name, website, budget and timeframe are optional context that help me give you a sensible answer.
- Cookie choices: your consent preferences, saved in your own browser's local storage on your device. I never see them.
- Server logs: standard technical request information, such as IP address and browser type, kept briefly by my hosting provider for security and reliability.
What happens to an enquiry
When you send the form it is emailed straight to my inbox at hello@sumwen.com through my email delivery provider. It is not added to a marketing list, and I do not run a newsletter. I reply from the same address, so your message sits in ordinary email rather than in a database of leads.
Why I collect it
Purely so I can reply to you and, if we end up working together, run the project properly. My lawful basis is legitimate interest, replying to an enquiry you chose to send me. Cookie preferences are stored on the basis of your consent, which you can change or withdraw at any time.
Who else sees it
Only the suppliers that make the site and my email work, my website hosting provider and my email delivery provider, and only to the extent needed to deliver those services. I do not sell, rent or share your information for advertising, and there are no advertising networks or tracking pixels embedded in this site.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into projects are deleted from my inbox within twelve months. Correspondence and paperwork for projects I have actually worked on is kept for six years, because my accountant and HMRC need it to exist.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see the data I hold on you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how it is used, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. Email me first though, it is usually a five minute job and I would rather just sort it out for you.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
